FAQs and Referral Resources About Property Modification
Frequently Asked Questions
Over time we have found that clients often have very good questions about how all this works. Here is a list of questions we’ve compiled to address many common concerns. Contact us if your question isn’t answered here.
Do you come to my house to assess my needs?
Yes. Whether you need equipment, home modifications or a combination of both, we begin each project with a thorough needs assessment. We identify your abilities and the possibilities for improvement in your home to maximize your independence. If you’re considering lift and transfer equipment, we do an in-home demonstration of the equipment, so you are assured the safest and best fit. With this information, we design and coordinate modifications that suit your unique needs.
How much does all this cost?
Home Modification costs vary greatly from project to project, but we’re here to help keep costs down. Our fees are rolled equally into each contractors’ bid, so they don’t change which bidder is lowest. Whether you’re paying out of pocket or have assistance from a third party funding source, we provide a value added service for a reasonable cost.
How long does a typical home modification take?
Depending on the complexity of the project, most modifications can be completed within 4-10 weeks, from initial visit to completion. We can give you a good idea of the time frame after the initial visit.
Do you install the equipment yourself?
Robinhood Corporation has a pool of skilled and licensed contractors that we draw from for modifications. They are all experienced, professional, and provide high quality work. We select contractors based on several criteria including location, availability and skill set. We may also be able to include your contractor of choice in the bidding process, so please let us know if you have a preferred contractor.
